I’M LORI BRAZIER
I’m a wife, mom, track and field champion, award-winning entrepreneur, writer, and adventure-lover.
As a lifelong athlete and firm believer in the life lessons and opportunities that sports provide, I know what it takes to be a competitor on and off the field. With my background as a Level 10 competitive gymnast and a Division 1 collegiate track and field champion, I’ve taken the same principles I used to excel on the field into the workplace.
I know that collegiate athletes have the foundation for success wrapped into their sports DNA, but aren’t always sure how to apply it outside of sports or where to start when their sports career is over. With a broad range of topics that include interviews from college athletes, incredible coaches, gold-medal Olympians and more, I dove into what it means to take a winning mentality beyond the field and into the workplace with personal experiences, tangible advice, and takeaways for transitioning into a new unfamiliar routine.

HERE’S A BIT OF MY JOURNEY THAT GOT ME WHERE I AM TODAY…
1990s
COMPETITIVE GYMNAST
from 3-16 years old, you could find me at the gym. I trained levels 5-10 (practicing 20 hours a week!) and competed locally and nationally. It truly gave me the foundation for all that was to come.
2008
TRACK + FIELD
My track and field career began as a sophomore in high school. A few years later, I found myself as a captain on the first Women's Championship team in school history with 4 individual titles in the long and triple jump and 2 team titles.
2008
WE STARTED DATING!
You'll never guess what these friendships will turn into! Little did I know that my decathlete teammate would become my husband!
2009
GRADUATION!
One of the best days! I graduated with honors as a 6x D1 Conference Champion, Junior Olympics Top 5 finalist, and Academic All-American before becoming a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach, collegiate volunteer coach, and student-athlete mentor the following season.
2009
INTERIOR DESIGN
After my internship at an architect firm, I learned the ins and outs of business and entrepreneurship doing high-end residential design.
2015
OFFICIALLY TEAM BRAZIER
We got married by the ocean in Maui and took another dive the next day with an underwater photoshoot in our wedding clothes!
2017
CERTIFIED DESIGNER
I realized I needed to step up my game and registered for the state certification. After months of studying, I took the test and passed!
2018
ENTREPRENEUR
Just 2 weeks before my maternity leave ended, I found out I no longer had a job to return to. Without hesitating, I started my own business with my almost 3-month old son and my husband's support.
2019
I PUBLISHED MY CHILDREN'S BOOK
A passion project that began immediately after our son was born, I had the printed books in hand in time for his first birthday! (click on "children's book" above!)
2020
AWARD-WINNING DESIGNER
My second win from the regional chapter of the national governing board for interior design with another award to come in 2022.
2023
PUBLISHED LIVE LIKE A CHAMPION!
What began as a list of things I'd learned from sports has turned into a full-fledged book to inspire, encourage, and challenge student-athletes to continue their pursuit of greatness off the field!
